SCR - June 8th Sepsis Alert and Screening Go Live
South Central Region is go live for the new Sepsis Alert and Screening on June 8, 2021. Be prepared for these changes and see below videos and documents so you will be prepared.

COVID-19 Vaccination Measure Being Added to Care Recommendations
A COVID-19 Vaccination measure is being added to Care Recommendations on June 16, 2021. The addition of this measure to Care Recommendation will allow staff to quickly see if the patient has had their COVID-19 vaccination(s) documented and if there is not documentation, they can query CHIRP to pull that into the chart.
Alert Display for Recent Perinatal Loss
Two alerts will display when a patient has experienced a recent perinatal loss will start on june 15, 2021. To inform staff of a patient’s recent loss, allowing for appropriate interactions with the patient and family.
Reminder - Use Diagnotes to communicate and protect PHI
Cerner users are reminded to use only Diagnotes for any communications that may include Protected Health Information (PHI), including photographs and/or videos.
IU Health-approved Diagnotes uses secure end-to-end encryption to protect PHI and is the secure replacement for pagers and text messaging.
If you use Cerner, you have access to Diagnotes:
- Download the Diagnotes|Clinican app from the App Store or Google Play by searching “Diagnotes.”
- Once you download the app, use your Cerner username (user@iuhealth.org) and password to log in.

Amwell Virtual Visits Cerner embedded solution is now live
Over the last year, the use of Virtual Care at IU Health and across the country has grown exponentially. With no sign of slowing, Clinical IS and Virtual Care are continuously working to create a more seamless experience for our patients and providers. That’s why Amwell Virtual Visits is now embedded within the Cerner electronic health record for scheduled virtual visits.
Is the Amwell Virtual Visits – Cerner Embedded Solution the best solution for your patients?
If you or your clinic complete scheduled ambulatory appointments virtually, then the Amwell Virtual Visits – Cerner Embedded Solution may be right for you! Amwell Virtual Visits provides the same features as Amwell Now, as well as some others, including:
- Ability to launch the video stream from within Cerner for any appropriate team members.
- Ability to invite interpreters and other team members before or during the visit.
- Automation of creating invitations from the patient’s phone number or email already in the Cerner EMR.
- Visibility of who is in the visit from the Cerner EMR.
- Chat features for IU Health Team Members.
- Chat features with the patient during the visit.
- Patients can participate on a range of devices and incoming calls will not disrupt the visit.
- Patients do not have to download an application.
